Drugstore haul

So I did a little damage, made a little dent in my wallet... But it was very overdue! I haven't purchased any makeup in months now so this was a little treat for me. A few repurchases and as well as a few new things I spotted.

Products Purchased:
Original Source Breath taking XXX Black Mint Shower Gel.
Formula 10.0.6 So Totally Clean Everyday Cleanser
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles in Brightener
Revlon PhotoReady Blush in 003 Pink Rose
Revlon Grow Luscious lashliner in 002 Espresso
Models Prefer Mineral Eye shadow Duo in Panda Eyes
Maybelline The Colossal Volum' Express Smokey Eyes Mascara
Maxfactor Smokey Eye Effect Eye shadow in Bronze Haze
Covergirl Flamed Out Shadow Pencil in Melted Caramel
Revlon Color Burst Matte Balm in Elusive
Revlon Color Burst Matte Balm in Standout
Revlon Color Burst Matte Balm in Shameless
Maybelline Color Elixir in Raspberry Rhapsody

I am so excited that the Maybelline Color Elixir's are finally in Australia! I had such a hard time just choosing one colour but because they are a bit more on the pricey side and I am yet to try them I thought I better contain myself! I ended up getting Raspberry Rhapsody and am sure it will be the start of a large collection!

Another purchase I am extremely excited for is the Revlon Color Burst Matte Balm's. I hadn't planned on buying any of these, then I swatched one... It was love at first swatch! They are so smooth and opaque, I will do a blog post with swatches and review.

Reviews on a few of these products I picked up coming up, keep an eye out for a post on Original Source in the next few days!

Makeup Starter Kit

When you are young and starting out with makeup it is a fun and exciting time but walking into the beauty section and seeing all the different products it can be so overwhelming! So I have put together what I think would be the perfect makeup starter kit and a few little tips.

So what is inside the kit? Here is a breakdown:

Revlon ColourStay Liquid Foundation
Revlon ColourStay Blemish Concealer
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
ELF Blush in Fushia Fusion
Chi Chi Eyeshadow Palette in Glamorous Nudes
Maybelline Color Tattoo in Tough as Taupe
Rimmel Scandal Eyes Show Off Mascara
Baby Lips Loves Color
NYX Butter Gloss in Creme Brulee
Real Techniques Powder Brush
Manicare Angled Blush Brush
Essence Smokey Eyes Brush

I have used Revlon ColorStay for the longest time and swear by it, It can be built up for full coverage or worn as a thin layer. Rimmel's Stay Matte powder and Real Techniques powder brush work perfectly together to keep you shine free all day which is great if you are at school or work!

This ELF blush looks bright in the palette but with a quick sweep across the apples of your cheeks using the angled blush brush you can achieve a gorgeous flushed look. The sparkles in this transfer more as a slight shimmer which is great to make young skin look dewy.

Chi Chi make some of the best makeup and this palette is no exception! The amount of looks you can make is endless, from a sweep of one of the matte colors across the lid for an everyday look to a night time look with a shimmer and a dark cut crease. To make your eye shadow last all day I recommend using a base, such as the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Tough as Taupe. This is a great neutral color that even can be used on its own.

Finish off your look with a coat of mascara and a slick of baby lips tinted lip balms for moisture and a cute pop of color, or if you prefer something more glossy a NYX butter gloss would be my recommendation, not only do they smell amazing they are highly pigmented, easy to apply and not too sticky.
