Review: Original Source Bodywash

In my bathroom cupboard I have a basket of over twenty body washes however after trying one of the Original Source shower gels just before Christmas I have been neglecting the rest of my collection. It is now a must have for me and I don't think I could go back to another brand of body wash/shower gel.

If you have never tried anything by Original Source you are missing out! They are a fun brand that make Shower gels, Hand Washes as well as a Men's Range. Their products use natural ingredients, they don't test on animals and they strive to make showering and bathing an experience instead or a routine.

The Original Source shower gels smell delicious! They come in an extensive range of intense scents including Vanilla Milk & Raspberry, Mint & Tea Tree, Lime Shower, Shea Butter & Honey, Lavender & Tea Tree, Lemon & Tea Tree, XXX Black Mint as well as a couple of limited editions including Chocolate & Mint (My all time favorite!) and Pink Grapefruit.

I have used up at least four bottles of these and just started another. I am completely in love with these! To me they are the perfect shower gel, they foam up nicely and clean perfectly. Leaving you feeling fresh and moisturized not to mention smelling amazing! Through out the day you get whiff's of the scent without smelling too intense like you have dumped a whole bottle of lolly scented perfume on you which is what I have found some sweet scented body washes to do.

The Original Source comes in a thin bottle that easily fits into any shower caddy or on any shower shelf and contains 250mls of product. You can pick one up from most supermarkets and chemists for under five dollars making it an absolute steal! I can not recommend these enough! Go smell one for yourself today.

Drugstore haul

So I did a little damage, made a little dent in my wallet... But it was very overdue! I haven't purchased any makeup in months now so this was a little treat for me. A few repurchases and as well as a few new things I spotted.

Products Purchased:
Original Source Breath taking XXX Black Mint Shower Gel.
Formula 10.0.6 So Totally Clean Everyday Cleanser
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles in Brightener
Revlon PhotoReady Blush in 003 Pink Rose
Revlon Grow Luscious lashliner in 002 Espresso
Models Prefer Mineral Eye shadow Duo in Panda Eyes
Maybelline The Colossal Volum' Express Smokey Eyes Mascara
Maxfactor Smokey Eye Effect Eye shadow in Bronze Haze
Covergirl Flamed Out Shadow Pencil in Melted Caramel
Revlon Color Burst Matte Balm in Elusive
Revlon Color Burst Matte Balm in Standout
Revlon Color Burst Matte Balm in Shameless
Maybelline Color Elixir in Raspberry Rhapsody

I am so excited that the Maybelline Color Elixir's are finally in Australia! I had such a hard time just choosing one colour but because they are a bit more on the pricey side and I am yet to try them I thought I better contain myself! I ended up getting Raspberry Rhapsody and am sure it will be the start of a large collection!

Another purchase I am extremely excited for is the Revlon Color Burst Matte Balm's. I hadn't planned on buying any of these, then I swatched one... It was love at first swatch! They are so smooth and opaque, I will do a blog post with swatches and review.

Reviews on a few of these products I picked up coming up, keep an eye out for a post on Original Source in the next few days!

Makeup Starter Kit

When you are young and starting out with makeup it is a fun and exciting time but walking into the beauty section and seeing all the different products it can be so overwhelming! So I have put together what I think would be the perfect makeup starter kit and a few little tips.

So what is inside the kit? Here is a breakdown:

Revlon ColourStay Liquid Foundation
Revlon ColourStay Blemish Concealer
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
ELF Blush in Fushia Fusion
Chi Chi Eyeshadow Palette in Glamorous Nudes
Maybelline Color Tattoo in Tough as Taupe
Rimmel Scandal Eyes Show Off Mascara
Baby Lips Loves Color
NYX Butter Gloss in Creme Brulee
Real Techniques Powder Brush
Manicare Angled Blush Brush
Essence Smokey Eyes Brush

I have used Revlon ColorStay for the longest time and swear by it, It can be built up for full coverage or worn as a thin layer. Rimmel's Stay Matte powder and Real Techniques powder brush work perfectly together to keep you shine free all day which is great if you are at school or work!

This ELF blush looks bright in the palette but with a quick sweep across the apples of your cheeks using the angled blush brush you can achieve a gorgeous flushed look. The sparkles in this transfer more as a slight shimmer which is great to make young skin look dewy.

Chi Chi make some of the best makeup and this palette is no exception! The amount of looks you can make is endless, from a sweep of one of the matte colors across the lid for an everyday look to a night time look with a shimmer and a dark cut crease. To make your eye shadow last all day I recommend using a base, such as the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Tough as Taupe. This is a great neutral color that even can be used on its own.

Finish off your look with a coat of mascara and a slick of baby lips tinted lip balms for moisture and a cute pop of color, or if you prefer something more glossy a NYX butter gloss would be my recommendation, not only do they smell amazing they are highly pigmented, easy to apply and not too sticky.

Happy Makeup Shopping xx

Current Makeup Wishlist

Call me greedy, maybe I am, but here is my massive makeup wishlist! I feel like lately there have been a heap of new products released, here are some newbies as well as some ones that has been around for a while that I just want to try out have a play with and put them on my face! Of course I am not going to be running out to by all of these things but I may pick up a few of these products here and there.

Mac Lipstick in Heroine                                     Mac Lipstick in Fleur de Coral

Coming into the colder months I decided that I want some darker lipsticks so off I went to the Mac counter, of course the only lipsticks I looked at were bright and I ended up buying 'up the amp' (the opposite of a winter lipstick) however that is all beside the point! Looking at some of the darker colours I came across this whole new world of purple lipsticks. I own a few already but have never really worn them. The lady in Mac put heroine on me and I fell in love with it, what would you know, they were sold out, so I left, one purple lipstick in tow and one breaking my heart still on the display. I will get my little mits on this beautiful bright luscious purple if it kills me.

Also as most of you will know Macs latest collection a Fantasy of Flowers has just released in Australia. I am yet to see it in real life but I already know I want the lipstick in Fleur De Coral... but that might just be because I share a name with it.

Too Faced Joy to the Girls Palette
So I may be a bit late on this one, I don't think it is even available in store any more but makeup and Christmas all bundled up in this cute packaging I am just regretting not buying it when I saw it in store.

Lime crime Velvetines

Lime Crime has just released the Clueless Witch Collection of three new Velvetines, so ofcourse they go straight on the wishlist. Well Wicked does anyway! I dont know how I'd go pulling off the other dark colours without looking like I have char grilled my lips.

Australis Velourlips

I already have the pink and orange ones of these magical little lip creams and now I need to complete my collection. These are meant to be dupes for the lime crime Velvetines and although I am yet to try the lime crime ones these are very mat and stay so highly pigmented without moving all day.

These are just a few of the many things on my wish list, whats on your wishlist?

xoxo Fleur

Lilac Loving

What is hotter this summer than pastels? Maybe some glitter?... oh and all on your fingertips!!

clutch by Colette Hayman

Pastel and Sparkle... what else would you want on your nails this summer? Or Winter for you lucky people over the other side of the world that aren't melting! These nails are so simple and so effective. Try any colours, I'm thinking pinks would make this the perfect manicure for valentines day!

I used Sally Hansen's 150 Petal Pusher as a base colour. I like to use a light natural colour as a base to make the colours more vibrant and also to stop my nails from getting stained. The main polished used is Rimmel Londons 60 Seconds polish in 620 How do you Lilac it? The tips are Ulta3's nail colour in Lollypop Lilac.

What are you wearing on your nails at the moment?

Fleur xoxo

40 Beauty Questions Tag

I have been reading through some older posts on some beauty blogs and came across this rather old tag, although it is old I think it is a great way to see my fave bloggers current skin care and makeup routines. So enough rambling, lets get on with it! Here are my answers to the 40 Beauty Questions Tag.

1. How many times do you wash your face daily.
Every night before going to bed I remove my makeup and cleanse my face and in the mornings i just rinse my face, so really only once a day!

2. What type of skin do you have? (dry, oily or combination)
My skin is very much combination skin.

3. What is your current face wash?
Neutrogena Naturals Fresh Cleansing and Makeup Remover combined with Formula 10.0.6 So Totally Clean Sensitive Formula cleanser.

4. Do you exfoliate?
Nope :/ I am yet to find an exfoliator that is gentle enough for my face yet doesn't break me out.

5. What brand do you use?
None! Although I have a Soap and Glory one in the cupboard that I am going to try.

6. What moisturizer do you use?
Nivea Sun light feel daily face veil. It is a very moisturizing cream/gel sunscreen based product. If i have really dry patches on my face i will use Redwin sensitive Sorbolene moisturizer.

7. Do you have freckles?
Only a couple.

8. Do you use eye cream?
Yes, I use Simple Radiance eye brightening cream.

9. Do you have acne prone skin.
I do get pimples however I wouldn't call it acne.

10. Did you ever use ProActiv?
No, I used similar products however only made my skin worse!

11.What Foundation do you use?
Revlon Colourstay in 150 Buff
Rimmel Wake Me Up in 100 Ivory
Chi Chi Mineral Diamond Foundation in 10 Fair

12. How about concealer?
MAC Select Cover-up in NW20

13. Do you know your undertone colour?
Red, Red, Red! My face could be mistaken for a tomato without makeup!

14. What do you think of fake eyelashes?
I can not put them on for the life of me but I wish I could!

15. Did you know you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?
I do, doesn't mean I follow this rule though!

16. What brand of mascara do you use?
Currently i'm using Rimmel Scandal Eyes Show Off Mascara. At first I didn't like it at all but im starting to like it!

17. Sephora or MAC?
We don't have Sephora here so i'm going to say MAC.

18. Do you have a MAC Pro-Card?
No.

19. What makeup tools do you use in makeup application ?
I use Real Technique brushes for my face makeup and Fraulein38 brushes for my eyes. I also use large cotton pads, tweezers and an eyelash curler.

20. Do you use makeup brush/ primer for the eyes?
I use Australis Primer all over my face including on my eyelids.

21. For the face?
Same as above.

22. What is your favorite eye shadow?
I could never choose my all time favorite eye shadow colour but at the moment I am loving the Chi Chi Nudes eye shadow palette. I have been using this non stop since I got it.

23. Do you use pencil or liquid eye-liner?
I use both, pencil for the water line and an eyeliner pen for the lash line and winged eyeliner. At the moment my favorite is Essence Stays no matter What eyeliner in both pencil and pen form. It really does stay no matter what.

24. How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?
Never, how ever a mascara wand... Well that is a whole other story!!!

25. What do you think of pigment eye shadow?
Never really used it, although I love some of the colours of the MAC pigments.

26. Do you use mineral make-up?
I have only ever used Chi Chi Mineral Diamond Foundation, I can't really tell a difference between mineral and non mineral foundations, as in how they feel on the skin or last.

27. What is your favorite lipstick?
This question is like asking a parent to choose their favorite child!! They like them all equally, and even if they have a favorite they would never say! If I have to choose some I would say MAC cremesheen in Fan Fare, MAC cremesheen in Speak Louder, Chi Chi You Had Me At Hello, Chi Chi Viva La Diva (The perfect Christmas Lipstick!) and Maybellines 160 Fifth Ave Fuchsia.

28. How about lip gloss?
I haven't worn lip gloss for the longest time now! So I don't really have a favorite at the moment.

29. What is your favorite blush?
It's a draw between The Balm Cabana Boy and Rimmel 004 Pink Rose.

30. Do you buy makeup on Ebay?
I have in the past. Only from reputable sellers though, sometimes you can get some good deals if you buy in bulk.

31. Do you like drug store makeup?
Drug store makeup is just as good if not sometimes better than high end makeup. Most of the makeup I use is drugstore.

Not really, I struggle with winged eyeliner and falsies how ever I don't know if that's due to clumsiness or more down to lack of practice and rushing!

35. Name a makeup crime that you hate.
Orange foundation!!! Need I say more! Oh and Raccoon eyes! And while I am at it should I mention concealer lips?! Eww EW EwwWWwww
